December Delta Days

Delta fishing remains strong and I guess it will be steady fall fishing for another two weeks then we will enter our winter fishing period.   We will have a couple of week period where the bite will drop off and then will restart around January 1st. 

We are catching our Striper on larger flies and the hits are really strong and sometimes jarring....

I think anglers have been sleeping under the rocks lately because we have had the river to ourselves. Winter is here, and it is starting out with a bang. I’ve been rather pleased with the fishing on the Yuba the last few weeks. The fish are healthy as can be and the numbers of fish is back to normal.

OWYHEEIf you’re one of the few people still fishing the Owyhee, watch your step. A lot of the browns are now SPAWNING. Anywhere there is shallow water, small gravel and a bit of current mixed in, there is a good chance there are fishing spawning or eggs buried in the gravel. So please keep your eyes open.
