Fall River Fly Fishing Report

Fall RiverAug 28, 20141 min read

John Fochetti, Clearwater Lodge

Almost 100% spring fed and one of the largest spring systems in the world. The water level is actually the highest that I have seen this year! There really is no change in tactics on this river, because its cold and flowing. My best advice is to get up here and fish it! Sure the fish have spread out a bit, but they are very willing to take a properly presented fly. Nymphing straight downstream with long drifts is most effective, using small mayflies such as Hagan’s S&M, Pheasant tails, and Micro mayflies. Stripping small nymphs or buggers under an intermediate line has also been producing.
