Surf Perch Flies

The most common surf perch species along the San Francisco Bay Area are Barred Surfperch, Walleye Surfperch, and Redtail Surfperch. While these eager fish will sometimes smash one of our larger striper patterns, they’re far more likely to chew on the dedicated surf perch flies below.

Each pattern is designed for fly fishing the surf — tied to imitate sand crabs, shrimp, and small baitfish that perch feed on in the breaking waves.
