We are in the midst of another very good water year. The snow reports in the Sierras are reaching 150% mark. Looks like we will have plenty of water for the year to come. So what is happening right now? We are getting opportunities to fish in between the storms. Mother Nature is being kind enough to allow us a breath of fishing until the next set....

Well apparently, Mammoth Mountain has the most year-to-date snowfall totals in North America, 446” with another big storm system piling it on this week. We had some violent storms this past week in Northern California.
The results of these storms have us slightly ahead (2”) of "normal" for
rainfall and looking good for water content in the snowpack. Woot Woot.
This is great news for salmon, steelhead and wild trout fisheries all over

Delta Striper fishing was really well last week. We caught good numbers of schoolie Stripers. Water temperatures were around 55 degree’s last week with water clarity a little bit off in most parts of the Delta.
This week’s cold storms should bring the water temps back down to around 50 degrees.

The Klamath continues to have a solid steelhead season. The rains have brought in a new push of fresh fish into the upper end above I-5 and with it the bigger winter fish.
