Pretty much the same as last post up here fishing wise on the Truckee River. Nice cool mornings and warm afternoons.

August on the Truckee River, crayfish and caddis. Big fish occasionally and descent action from the smaller fish. The whole river is fishing pretty well. I’ve even done some trips on the Nevada side.

Pretty decent solid fishing on the Truckee River.

Tight line nymphing through the pocket water is my gig right now. Of course that’s not the only way to catch fish on the T, but it’s fun to break the river down into slots and pepper them until you get some grabs. Trouts are sucked down in the fast pocket water and that is the best way to get them.

Memorial Day has come and gone, thank God. Every weekend warrior out on the river this weekend. Now we can focus on some summertime fishing.

Seriously though, Memorial Day sucks and so does July 4th, and Labor Day. So many people on the river illegally camping, having fires, leaving their trash and shit. I don’t mind all the anglers, it’s the other folks...
