California Delta Fly Fishing Report

Capt. Bryce Tedford reports on 10.18.18

Striper fishing in the Delta has been going strong for a few weeks now!  The weather has been excellent & we are finding lots of fish throughout the Delta. Most fish are smaller but 5lb fish are mixed in here & there.

Hard to find larger fish over 5lbs but they should arrive soon! Water temperatures are 66-68 degrees in much of the Delta with cooler nights...

North Folk Yuba Fly Fishing Report

Jon Baiocchi reports on 10.11.18

ishing has been really good on the North Fork Yuba River. It’s that time of year where nearly every body of water is on fire, fall ball is the best and an angler has so many choices to fish here in Nor Cal.

Water temperatures are 53 to 58 degrees. Fishing pressure is pretty much non existent, and the campgrounds are empty. You’ll want to fish downstream of...

McCloud River Fly Fishing Report

John Rickard reports on 10.11.18

The McCloud River is fishing great this fall. With all the fall colors and great fishing, we are expecting to see some crowds the next coming weeks.

It rained hard the last few days and colored up the water at Bollibokka.

It still fished well. Up river the Conservancy and Ah Di Na has been consistent but hatchless.

A couple more weeks and we will have fantastic dry...

Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Matt Koles reports on 10.11.18

What a difference a week makes.

Summer turned to fall on the Truckee River. I needed it. Ain’t easy catching trouts when it’s 94 degrees out. Ain’t easy on the body either. We’ve had clouds, rain, and even a duster of snow on the peaks. The fishing is much, much better on the entire Truckee River.

We’ve wrecked ‘em on the streamers a few days last week on the lower...

Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Anthony Carruesco reports on 10.11.18

October is finally here and Fall has brought everything we’d hoped it would. Fishing has been FANTASTIC. Kings are in the river, moving gravel, spawning and feeding the trout a lot of food.. Hatches of Caddis, various mayflies and midges have been solid most days as well, keeping the “bug water” an option as well.

We’re looking forward to the fishing staying...

Capt. Chuck Regan reports on 10.11.18

Fall Fishing for resident Striper in some of our Northern California rivers (Sacramento, Feather, and Yuba Rivers) continues to prove it’s worth and has been leaving everyone thrilled and hungry for more.

Decent to great numbers with a few shots for a beast constantly keep us on point and focused. The shift in weather this past weekend from the front that moved...

Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Matt Koles reports on 10.4.18

Finally a break in the weather. Fall is here on the Truckee River.

Near record high’s in Reno this past weekend and now very cool fall like weather in the Truckee Meadows, and Truckee/ Lake Tahoe area. Time to get the wood stacked.

Very tough fishing at times, and now pretty good fishing. Those last few weeks of September were hot. It’s nice to actually have some cool,...

Eastern Sierra Fly Fishing Report

We had a nice two day storm this week that left snow on the high peaks and increased all of the flows in the free stone creeks and rivers. Autumn is in the air and the colors are gorgeous. If you are into leaf peeping, don’t wait too much longer. The prime time is usually mid-month. This looks like a good, colorful autumn ahead. Enjoy!
