Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverOct 11, 20181 min read

Anthony Carruesco reports on 10.11.18

October is finally here and Fall has brought everything we’d hoped it would. Fishing has been FANTASTIC. Kings are in the river, moving gravel, spawning and feeding the trout a lot of food.. Hatches of Caddis, various mayflies and midges have been solid most days as well, keeping the “bug water” an option as well.

We’re looking forward to the fishing staying solid with plenty of Salmon downriver still waiting to get up in town and start dumpin’ eggs.

There are a few Steelhead around - the Lower floats have given up a decent number recently. This is the time of year we all love and look forward to all year… the past few days are a great reminder why.
