American & Yuba River Fishing Report

American River 6/16/2017

image

Flows have dropped back down to just over 6k making access much easier Shad are being caught all day with the evening being the highest success rate. Pinies and other shad darts on a type 3 or 6 shooting head will do the trick. That is if you are not chasing stripers around.

Eastern Sierra Fly Fishing Report

Jim Stimson Reports on 6.15.2017

First off, a big congratulations to the Golden State Warriors. Was there any doubt that they would win?

With a cold front that passed through over the weekend, the temperatures have dropped and the runoff has mellowed out. As the next week progresses however, the water will rise again so be careful where you fish. Even at these current “subdued” flows, the river...

Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Matt Gilligan Koles Reports on 6.15.2017

No major changes in flows yet on the Truckee River.

Still pretty big, but the fishing is good.

Mostly nymphing and streamer fishing. The streamer fishing has been pretty good the last couple weeks. Big and nasty, think sculpins and crayfish. Nymphing is always good. Good nymphs are-green drakes, golden stones, march browns, baetis, worms, and crayfish....

Deschutes River Fly Fishing Report

Cory Godell Reports on 6.14.2017

It’s time to put away the Stimulators and Chubby Chernobyls and dig out your Elk Hair Caddis and Parachute Adams. The Salmon Fly hatch is now gone for another year. The good news, is that with the big bugs gone so are the masses of the people who fish the Deschutes.

A lot of the trout are already making the move from the faster moving water to the slower water so...

Delta Fly Fishing Report

Steve Santucci Reports on 6.16.2017

Had a great week for both Stripers and Largemouth Bass.  There was good numbers of Stripers in the West Delta.  Happened to draw a good day with no wind and was able to find good numbers of Stripers to 6 lbs.  Also experienced great top water action for Delta Largemouth Bass last week. Good action for Stripers at San Luis if you can catch a light wind day.

Lower Sac Striper Report

Capt. Hogan Brown Reports on 6.16.2017

Striper fishing on the Lower Sac has been fair to good. The whacky weather this week messed with the bite for a few days but HOT weather moving in is stabilizing fishing again. Most fish are still averaging 4-8lbs but we did hook our first 2 fish of the season in the 20lbs class this week. The big fish are starting to eat in the traditional feeding areas as...

Lake Davis & Frenchman’s Lake Fishing Report

Jon Baiocchi Reports on 6.16.2017

Just like last June, extreme and unusual weather slammed the region with big wind, rain, and snow in eastern Plumas County. An unfortunate angler capsized his boat last Friday at Lake Davis and lost everything, luckily he was wearing a PFD and made it to shore safely. The cooler weather dropped water temperatures briefly but they will be rising in the week to come,...

McCloud and Upper Sac Report

Western Anglers Guide Service Reports on 6.16.2017

Just got of the McCloud today and the fishing was good! We fished a variety of techniques today: streamers, dry flys, and nymphs. All of them worked! If you want to try streamer fishing, the McCloud is a fun place to do it; Try stripping a sculp zilla streamer. Nymphs that were working best were rubber legs and small mayfly patterns. Indicatorless...
