McCloud and Upper Sac Report

McCloud RiverJun 16, 20171 min read

Western Anglers Guide Service Reports on 6.16.2017

Just got of the McCloud today and the fishing was good! We fished a variety of techniques today: streamers, dry flys, and nymphs. All of them worked! If you want to try streamer fishing, the McCloud is a fun place to do it; Try stripping a sculp zilla streamer. Nymphs that were working best were rubber legs and small mayfly patterns. Indicatorless high stick nymphing is a great technique for this river but indicators work just fine too! The water is crystal clear and flowing at 250 Cfs!

The Upper Sac is dropping and becoming more fishable as each day passes. The flows are good enough to fish most places and is fishing consistently enough to make it worth it! Top fly choice have been rubber legs and pheasant tails.
