Little warm up here again. Descent fishing one day, not so good the next. Dog days of August I guess.

Best thing to do is get out in the mornings and nymph with some crayfish, or caddis and mayfly type combo. Cover some water and make sure you fish the heads of runs/ pools and the fast pocket water slots. It’s also hopper time, you may get a fish or two...

We have been hearing some descent fishing reports from the Lower Yuba. Our buddy Tony Bellaver was up there the other day to test out his new quad spey rod he is working on and landed this fish:

Some nice fishing being caught out there. Monterey, Santa Cruz, Pacifica, Ocean Beach, Half Moon bay, Stinson, and Bolinas all have potential to kick out some nice fish. The good ‘OL Chartreuse and white clouser is a favorite. 

Attention Pit River anglers:
PG&E will be doing a scheduled white water release for recreational boaters on August 13 and 14 and again on September 10 and 11. These flows will only be on Pit 5 and will ramp down during the night and be back to normal by the following weekdays. Please take caution if you are planning on fishing Pit 5 on either of these weekends or choose a different stretch of river...

Pretty much the same as last post up here fishing wise on the Truckee River. Nice cool mornings and warm afternoons.

August on the Truckee River, crayfish and caddis. Big fish occasionally and descent action from the smaller fish. The whole river is fishing pretty well. I’ve even done some trips on the Nevada side.

Lower Sacramento Striper Fishing - Fishing has been fair. There are a ton of little fish in the feeding spots so anglers have to fish through the littler fish to get to the bigger ones.
