This time of year bug hatches are definitely few and far between, but if you know where to look there are still fish to be caught. Sorry for the lack of reports. Hitting the river so far this year has been a bit trickier than normal due to the all the snow and crazy weather we’ve been having. Yah it’s true, the number of steelhead in the Deschutes is definitely down this season. The good news is that the average size of the fish have been bigger than normal. This year we have seen a fair bit more two salt fish than normal. Sometimes less fish in the river isn’t always a bad thing.
