Fishing Report

Trinity River Report

While I have not been getting reports from  my guides on the trinity I have been getting some great reports on fishing from clients. The fish are in and the river is fishing great. It’s busy out there but you can find your own water from pretty easily. Just head down below Del Loma. Skating is still a possibility with current temps.

Trinity Fly Fishing Report

The Trinity has been fishing well from Lewiston down to Willow Creek. Most Anglers have been focusing on the Junction city area.

Flies: Golden Stones, Rubber legs, Copper Johns, and Egg Patterns will do the trick.

If you are a swinger try dries in the morning and evenings otherwise find some shade and swing a black leach.

NOR CAL FLY GUIDES

Feather River:

Despite what you may hear the Feather is fishing pretty good right now. Over the past 2 weeks the number of steelhead in the system has increased dramatically and we are seeing a good number of steelhead from 12"-26", most are 16-22". Not only are there more steelhead, we are seeing a large number of salmon starting to spawn. Most are staging and...

Trinity River Report

Brian Clemens Reports on 8.27.2015

Fishing on the Trinity has been pretty darn good as of late, with the opportunity to hook into a good number of large summer run steelhead, a ton of half pounders as well as some browns and an occasional salmon. All fishing techniques can be used to target these fish, from throwing dries, to indicator fishing, but by far the most fun and rewarding is swinging,...

Trinity River 4.21

Randy at Confluence Outfitters Reports:

The Trinity has been classified to be “Dry Water Year” and the annual release schedule has been set and starts tomorrow. The flows out of Lewiston ramp up tomorrow to 500 CFS and peak May 5th & 6th at 8500 CFS and ramp down to 450 CFS through the early Fall. 8500 CFS will be nice to clear the river out and move things around, I’m just a little worried about...

Trinity River Fly Fishing Report

Aaron Gabriel, The Northern California Guide

Trinity river fly only water opened today! Had fun watching the crowds
and throwing the streamer around. Landed a handful of adults and watched some getting caught on Nymphs. Beautiful day to take our dog out. I have openings in early April if anyone wants a tune up before trout season opens or if you need to sneak one more steelhead day in.

Just wrapping up what has been an epic steelhead season on the Klamath, Rogue, Trinity and coastal rivers. There is certainly still some fishing to be had for these special brutes. Up next we start segwaying into trout fishing on the Lower Sacramento and Upper Sacramento Rivers. Rick Cox of Wild Waters Fly Fishing is reporting good results on the Upper Sac...

Trinity River

From Nor Cal Fly Guides:

Put away the bobbers, busted out the spey flies, streamers and dries, in search of chrome. Client Henry, never landing a fish on his spey rod, needed some love. Yesterday 2 monster grabs on streamers, one brown one steelhead. Lots of fish on dries, and two great tugs swinging. Not a bad day.
Today, 4hrs in, 4 grabs swinging, one 25" burly brown and a gorgeous 23" wild...

Chrome Rewards!

John Rickard, Wild Waters Fly Fishing

March has arrived here in Northern California/Southern Oregon and we are seeing the continuation of great steelhead fishing and the uptick in trout fishing on the Lower and Upper Sacramento Rivers. Blooming flowers and trees are offering a color show after their winter hibernation along with mild warmer days. Winter steelhead are continuing to reward those...
