Fishing Report

Trinity River

Fishing has been slow but there are a few fish around. Netting in the lower river and the mouth of the klamath being closed have contributed to the slow fishing. The Flows on the Klamath recently jumped and should help get some fresh fish in the system.

Trinity River Fly Fishing Report

Dave Neal Reports on 3.24.2016

The good old Trinity remains a viable option. I decided to venture over the hill with 2 clients on Friday and we experienced a solid flurry of caddis and mayfly activity mid-day providing some exciting dry fly fishing for a few hours. Big browns and half pounders are the main targets, with adult steelhead still possible on any cast. Pulling streamers, dry/dropper...

Lower Sac & Trinity Fly Fishing Report

Dave Neal Reports on 3.17.2016

UPDATE*** Flows are set to increase on the Lower Sac from 5,000cfs to 20,000cfs beginning this Friday 3/18/16 at 2am. Water clarity may actually improve with...

Northern California Report

The reservoirs are filling up fast, and things are really looking up for this years water/fishing season. The tough part with all of this is the ever fluctuating river flows, river clarity and over all fishing...

Trinity River Fly Fishing Report

We have not been getting good reports from the Trinity River. There are fish around but they are very spread out. Floating remains the best option for finding fish. The river is off color so throw bigger flies like rubberlegs and stones. This is the time of the year fish like aelvins and will certainly still eat the egg. As the temps warm swinging nymphs and soft hackles can be extremely...

Trinity River Fly Fishing Report

Dave Neal Reports on 2.17.2016

Fishing on the Trinity River improved the last few days after being a bit scratchy last week. We are currently seeing a little rain and cooler weather (back to more winter-like conditions) but the river didn’t bump at all today.

The river conditions are very fishable from Lewiston down through Junction City. If you have never floated the JC area (even DC areas) at the...
