The GlenDronch Revival 15yr Highland Single Malt Scotch is downright fantastic. This is the first bottle in a while that I have felt is worth a LCO thumbs up.

The Bank of Wine and Spirits within Wingtip is offering up an impressive selection of the brown stuff. Kyle, previously the manager of D&M Liquor, is heading up the new selection here at Wingtip and has great suggestions.

If you want to read a review of it check it out here.

Bruce Bell reports: The half-pounders were hitting the nymphs,...

Bruce Bell reports: The half-pounders were hitting the nymphs, such as the prince nymph. The big fish were hitting the egg patterns (yellow). The first day we drifted from Iron Gate Dam down to the first bridge, and Kevin caught the 22  inch fish that you see. The second day we drifted from that bridge down to the I-5 bridge, and Kevin caught a 20 inch steelhead and was spooled by a 30+ inch fish. Remarkable …. Then we fished the Sac through Redding, and not even a single bite!

Eastern Sierra Fly Fishing Report

With three more days left in the general fishing season, trout along the eastside are collectively breathing a sigh of relief. Now, if we can only have a “normal” winter, re-juice the streams, rivers, and reservoirs, all will be well. I fished Crowley Lake and the upper and lower Owens river systems over the long weekend. Everything was getting pounded by...

The Delta Fly Fishing Report

Steve Santucci, Steve Santucci Guide Service

The Delta is fishing well for Stripers with good numbers.  Not unusual to catch a double digit fish.  Three to five pound Stripers are common.  The 4 to 5 inch clouser is the go to fly.  All colors are working depending on the area and water clarity.

Lake Davis Fly Fishing Report

Jon Baiocchi, Baiocchi Troutfitters
I have not been up on the lake in the last week, presentations to fly clubs across the state, and the Simms Pro Delta day has been keeping me very busy. My antennas have informed that the bite is slowly getting better, and more fish are in the shallows. Finding active pods of feeding fish is far more important right now than which fly you use, or which...

Trinity River Fly Fishing Report

Dave Neal, Reel Adventures Guide Service

image

The Trinity River was a bit scratchy this past week, not sure if it’s due to a gap of fish or just the pressure the river has had recently. Veteran’s Day week was exceptionally busy… rafts, boats, bankies… many people were out enjoying the river!

There are some good fish to be found if you work hard and cover water. Right now, I would say that the anglers...

The Manistique by Colin Ambrose

A good fishing adventure starts long before you hit the water. Our steelhead odyssey started at 6:30 am In a parking lot next the U.S. Post office in Darien Ct.  , on to a Delta flight from Laguardia to Milwaukee, landed at 10:58. Enterprise rental car, actually a Ford 150 crew cab (awesome) and on to highway 43 heading north 20 minutes later.

First order of business, fishing licenses at the big...

Butte Creek

Opens up Nov 15 and I am sure some locals will go beat on the few fish in the creek and native trout on the opener. We need some rain to get the creek going and move fish up with as low as it has been this year....
