Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Anthony Carruesco reports on 12.15.2016

The Sac is currently sitting at 5k Cubes and flowing green. We’ve had some very good days out there recently for winter standards. Fish are more concentrated in their winter spots and eating a pretty diverse menu of bugs. Midges, Baetis, PMDs, Caddis, Stones and the round fly are catching quality fish right now. More than anything it’s about putting it in the...

Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Matthew Koles reports on 12.15.2016

The picture below is at about 2,400 cfs on Saturday afternoon. Saturday night the Truckee River rose to almost 4,000 cfs here in the Hirsch-which is flood stage. Crazy, the river rose to flood stage in less than 24 hours. It’s dropping fast now, and under 1,000 cubes here. Looks like we have another AR type event, Tuesday-Friday. Snow levels look to be high...

Lower Yuba Fly Fishing Report

Jon Baiocchi reports on 12.15.2016

Well, I was going to try and hold off as late as possible for this report as the Lower Yuba River flows will surge once again in the afternoon hours of 12/15, but with a deadline off 12 noon on Thursday it was not going to happen. Let’s recap what happened on our last dose of big water that peaked on 12/10. I was off by a day when the big water would hit, but it...

Delta Fly Fishing Report

Steve Santucci reports on 12.16.2016

Local Striper Report

Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Matt Koles Reports on 12.8.2016

Not too much going on since last report.

Things will change this week as an AR is aimed at Nor Cal, lots of rain and snow expected. Good news for both Pyramid Lake in Nevada, and on the Truckee River. Looks like the storm door could remain open for the rest of the month. We need it. Look for the Truckee River to start pumping after this weekend. 200 right now or so...

Yuba River Fly Fishing Report

Hogan Brown Reports on 12.8.2016

Lower Yuba River - spent a few days on the Lower Yuba River last week. Flows are stable around 1000cfs but could drop any time if we don’t get some rain like forecasted at the end of this week. They were suppose to drop this weekend but I think with the forecasted rain they have kept them up. Fishing was good. The fish seem to be getting out of their November funk...
