Surf Report 7.21.2017

Fly Anglers are getting fish all over Bay Area Beaches. A number of our friends are finding a lot of action from half moon bay to Stinson. There are still stripers in the bay too! Anglers have got some nice fish right off Crissy Field. Not just stripers but Halibut.

I have seen Burt at the casting ponds show up at the lodge with a couple of fish every morning.  They are out there! Check out Baker Beach in am. Fish are like the to eat the first part of the incoming tide.

Stripers are in the surf right now. Here’s our buddy Paul with a real good one. Large jig chartreuse and white clousers are going to do the trick for the big boys. But there are stripers of all shapes and sizes out there right now. don’t be discouraged if you don’t find them it takes hard work.

Fishing is transitioning from the bay to the surf. This fish came this week on a low tide morning. Chartreuse and white is still the top producer.

Local Bay Area Fishing Report

Local beaches have been kicking out Surf Perch and a few Stripers. Baker Beach is a sweet spot to fish because it is so protected from the swell. If you need help figuring out lines and flies come by the shop and we can get you sorted.

@Jonny415

While the numbers of fish in the bay are thinning out as the fish head into the Surf this is the time of year to hook your big fish in the bay. High tide...

LCO Reports 5/25/2017

The Bay is fishing incredibly well for stripers. This fish was literally caught this morning. You will notice the fish will start to get larger over the next few weeks. Get out there and fish this awesome fishery right in our backyard.

Intermediate (slow sinking lines) have been the ticket from shore. Large flies will help you target larger fish.

The surf has been fishing...

Someone dropped a striper bomb on the bay this week. We received multiple good reports from Marin and a few from north Alameda Co. Lots of schoolies around and a few bigger dudes. Crissy Field, literally in SF, is cranking out stripers and perch. This is seriously cool, urban fishing. Not many places in the world you can do it like this, and nowhere else can...

The capturing continues to improve out in the salt. We’re hearing positive coastal reports from Monterey to Bolinas. Still mostly schoolie shakers but with a few larger fish showing up (especially for the gear guys). The last winter has completely remodeled our beaches, so the holes and troughs you fished last fall are likely not there anymore. However,...

Lost Coast Outfitters reports on 4.27.17

The Bay and the beach might be the best thing going statewide right now. The spring migration is game on and we’re seeing fish from Monterey to Bolinas. Good reports from Pacifica and Alameda Rocks (outside the Golden Gate, not East Bay) are rolling in. Marin is heating up, lots of schoolies around Richardson Bay and Corte Madera Creek and tons of bait.

Most...

Local Stripers

4/24/2017 LCO Reports

The Surf and the bay have been fishing pretty well. There are a lot of smaller to mid sized stripers running around the bay right now. They have been liking all colors from chart and white, to blue and white, and black. Get out there now is the time. Look for low wind and surf days to capitlize. We have big tides with the upcoming full moon
