Fishing has been intermittent for stripers. Surf perch are around and even a some halibut are being caught. Monterey to Stinson Beach fish are being caught. Get out there! 

Stripers can be found in the bays from Marin and are in the Napa River. Fishing has been good in the surf too! Fish being caught from Half Moon Bay to Stinson. 

Fish big flies and an intermediate line to get to them. 

Stripers are being caught in decent numbers from Monteray to Santa Cruz.

The bays in Marin have been producing nice fish. Chartruese and White and Blue and White have been my colors. Got three 3-4lbers on a Sea Habit Last Sunday

SURF FISHING 

Local Striper fishing has been awesome. From Monterey to Bolinas Stripers are being caught. Very unusual but I’ll take it. In the bays intermeadiate shooting heads rigged with clousers or a deceiver have been crushing it.

Went out last weekend in the wind and the rain and caught a bunch of fiesty strippahs on intermediate shooting head with a sink tips and clousers.

Surf conditions have been good with afternoon winds being the only factor, lots of striped bass around right now…fish low light hours and change up your retrieve untill you find em. Not to much to report on, Ive been spending most of my time in the redwoods running my wilderness survival programs than on the beach fishing. The kayak/stand up paddle/ surfboard fishing has been quite good close to shore… limits of rockfish and lingcod being caught in the kelp beds found right off of some of our favorite Santa Cruz surf spots. The perch bite has also rebounded so its a good time...

Wind, wind…and more wind. Some big fish being landed when the ocean allows for fishing.
