I got skunked 4 mornings last week. I had a customer come in and tell me he found fish at China Camp at high tide in the grass this past weekend. I guess I was looking in the wrong places or the fishing the wrong tides. I am headed up to Inverness this weekend and will fish the surf. I will have a report when I return.

I have been getting out every day this week and with the exception of monday I have not found any fish around. Not sure where the fish went. Maybe it’s the storms rolling through or the colder weather that has them put down. I plan to fish the next couple days and see if I can find them. 

I found some stripers in Corte Madera Creek this week. Flies ranging from 1/0 to 4 were doing the trick. Flashfires and Mushmouths in blue and white and Chart and white doing the trick.

Local Striper continues to be good in the bay. If you are from shore us and Intermediate line and if you have a boat or a kayak use a type 3 to Type 8. Sea habits in 2/0 blue have been doing the trick for me. Catching small fish lately up to 18in. Somedays I find em on foot somedays I don’t. 

Stripers are all around the bay right now. Color combos range from blue and white, Black, and as usual Chartreuse and White. If you need help dialing in your rig or finding places to go come by the shop and we will get you dialed in! Now is the time to take advantage of this amazing local resource.

Did some dawn patrol missions this past week. I was checking out a few new locations. I had one big fish roll on my 4/0 topwater fly and two smaller fish take a sea habit. Everywhere I have gone there is so much bait around. Unbelievable!  They are here we just need to cross paths…

San Francisco Bay, Napa River, and the California Delta are all fishing pretty well. Each week new fish are moving into the Delta following schools of threadfin shad as they migrate to each end of the Delta. This is the best time to catch your Stripers on topwater. Have seen many pods of boiling Stripers . It’s that time of year when you can fish to fall run fish...

Fishing has been good in the both the bay and the surf. Marin, Eastbay, Mission bay, and Surf all producing fish. We have the right lines, flies and advice if you want to start chasing this awesome local fish.

Some nice fishing being caught out there. Monterey, Santa Cruz, Pacifica, Ocean Beach, Half Moon bay, Stinson, and Bolinas all have potential to kick out some nice fish. The good ‘OL Chartreuse and white clouser is a favorite. 

Fishing has been good in the surf with some nice stripers being caught from Santa Cruz to Bolinas. Fly anglers having success on outgoing tides letting their fly swing out in the current.
