Drove to the CA Delta to fish with friend and Simms Rep John Sherman. It was a rainy and beautiful day. It was pretty windy but we were able to find some great spots to hide from the wind in Discovery Bay. Chartreuse and olive is what they liked. A good number of Large Mouth mixed in. The fish are grabby it’s just a matter of finding some big ones.
Well… the word got out and it seems like the Klamath River is all the buzz. It has been a phenomenal steelhead run with the vast majority being wild fish! McCloud River- From John Rickard : On a quick non-fishing visit yesterday, I was so pleased to see her beautiful and with some huge brown trout redds.
Fishing has been good a dry dropper rig has been quite productive for most. Fish are hitting soft hackles (if you don’t know how to fish softies let me know and I will show you.)
