Pit River Fly Fishing Report

Pit RiverJun 6, 20181 min read

Pit

Pit River at #3 is in great shape… the water seems a tad high… but that may be that I’m getting older. Having a wading staff is just as important as bringing plenty of split shots.

Without either, you will not catch many fish. That said… the dry fly fishing in the late evening time could be very good this time of year. Didn’t see prolific hatches of bugs, however, caddis and small mayflies are always staples with caddis being most important.

Stoneflies are out and the little yellow Sallies can be a big deal in the late afternoons right now. Fish hard, keep moving and take that indicator off and high stick/tightline a bit more.
