Rick of Yosemite Outfitters reports on 7.15.15

With the
recent storms water levels are holding and staying relatively cool. With
most of our local waters experiencing good fishing. Our back country
high elevation streams and lakes are fishing very well- as always please
be aware of the late afternoon showers that could lead to lightning
Now from North to South…
Stanislaus
High Elevation- Pressure on the weekends around camp sites and trail
heads make for slow fishing, hike away from crowds and you’ll see a
dramatic change in fish activity. Again watch for thundershower
activity.
Mid elevations - The middle fork has fish more activity
with lakes doing well, especially the inlets make sure you have
streamers handy.
Lower - Great for warm water species

Tuolumne
Upper has been getting a lot of pressure on Hwy 120- walk away from the trail heads to find un-pressured water
Fishing well in Yosemite and through Hetch Hetchy.
Mid Elevation- Fishing best early and watch water temperature

Merced
Fishing well at elevation- Afternoon dry fly activity is increasing and bass are in the mid to lower elevations! Not a bad option in the heat!
Please be sure to check out our website- www.yosemite-outfitters.com for more information!
Cheers,
Rick
