West Slope Sierra Foothills Report
Rick Mazaira of Yosemite Outfitters Reports:
Opening day January first was a time of exploring and catching up. We
have seen large numbers of Salmon through the Stanislaus and had high
hopes.
Stanislaus:
Lot of work to get them. Drifting is best with eggs, & nymphs.
Lower
Tuolumne:
crowded, and slow fishing, hopefully the storms will agitate
the water and after a week it should fish well. Use eggs, nymphs, and a
BWO dry.
Merced:
below El Portal to Bagby blown due to storms
Use Nymphs and check the weather before you go, temps have been cold and storms have been stacking up.
From all of us here, we’d like to thank you for your support and wish you the best for the holidays!
Cheers,
Rick
