Upper and Lower Sac Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverJun 23, 20161 min read

Brian “Bucko” Theriot reports on 6.23.2016

Upper Sac

If your planning on coming up to the upper sac, you might as well leave those waders at home! This river is perfect for wet wading and the temps are suppose to jet up into the 90s by Saturday and even up to the hundreds by early next week. The fishing has been best mornings and evenings and the nymphing game has been good. Nymphs to try: prince nymphs, caddis patterns, little black stuff- small mayflies, and rubber legs.

Lower Sac

the lower sac has been fishing great and the pmd and caddis hatches have been popping out in good numbers. The flows bumped up a 1000 cfs on the 18th and is flowing at 9100 cfs. Pmd and caddis patterns have produced the best fishing!
