Morning is the best time on the Truckee River.
Give yourself a break, it’s about 95’ish on the lower river in the afternoons. 100 in Reno.
Nice and cool and really good solid fishing in the morning. Hot and smoke in the afternoons. Kinda the way it is in the summer on the Truckee River.

Crayfish, nocturnal stones, caddis and baetis should be in the nymph box. Get after it in the pocket water. Fish hard in the morning and get done. When you roll out at 2’o’clock you are not on the trouts schedule. They eat when they feel comfortable and the water temps are right. In the mornings and at night. My guide trips have been all half days lately.
We had a great tight line nymph clinic this last weekend, thank you all for coming. I am going to put together an advanced trout class, for advanced anglers, advanced tactics. 2 days back to back. I will teach everything I know,-top to bottom type thing. Look for that this late September or October. I will post shortly on the blog.
