Nick fishes the OP

By Nicholas Peterson

I was lucky enough to be invited up to Forks, WA by my good friend Brett of Brett Seng Photography. Being the trout guy that I am it was my first experience with these amazing fish.  To say the least I was not really prepared for the style of fishing but the pay off that you get when landing a steelhead is totally worth the wait and the patience it takes to actually get one on the end of the line. With flies tied by Ringo Nishioka, some spey casting lessons also and, despite the 50 year drought that the Olympic Peninsula is having this winter we were able to get into a few pieces of chrome.
