Lower Yuba Fly Fishing Report

Lower Yuba Report:

Flows are sitting around 1,450 below Deer Creek. We have been catching trout on hoppers pretty consistently, with some days being better than others. For nymphing, Rubberlegs and caddis are our primary success with Perdigons and attractors like Frenchies mixed in. This is a pretty good summer flow and the warmer it gets the better the hopper fishing should be. I anticipate July and early August will be the peak of hopper season.

In the lower river we are still seeing very good numbers of shad. With the lower flows there are very few people around and we are still having very productive days. I have attached a couple pictures from yesterday.

I will be on the Yuba throughout summer doing hopper trips and would be happy to get anyone out there who wants to throw some dry flies.
