530 Outfitters Upcoming Fly Fishing Guide Trips

Our crew has been off the water for the past week, so we do not have a current fishing report to share at the moment. However, we have been busy with some other exciting trips:

  - Land of the Giants & Missouri River: Bucko has been in Montana hosting our annual trips, with the second group starting tomorrow. Most of the western rivers are experiencing low water and the hatches went early. The Land of The Giants fished great with lots of big fish caught.

  - Xcalak, Mexico: I just returned from hosting our second trip of the year. It was a great success, with big migratory tarpon landed and permit caught using the floating crab patterns LCO had tied for us. If you are heading down there, definitely recommend taking those orange and yellow floaters.

Looking ahead, we have a few exciting things coming up for the summer:

  - Sacramento River stripers: With the salmon season opener, Hogan is ready to target big river stripers in the shallows and weed beds using intermediate lines and poppers. Some of these bites are visual and lots of them are explosive. 
  - The upper section of the Lower Sacramento River opener: We still have availability in August for the upper stretch. We are anticipating a strong egg bite due to the number of fresh winter salmon redds, which should allow us to use slightly bigger hooks to net more trophy rainbows.
  - On-the-Water Schools: We are hosting beginner fly fishing schools in August covering wading techniques, casting positioning, and entomology. We can also customize any guided trip into an on-the-water learning experience for beginners.

We will be back on the water starting this weekend and will have a current fishing report for you next time.
