Piconi's Prowler

The Piconi’s Prowler is a great fly in a range of situations, from surf to flats.

“This week’s fly is a Peter Piconi Prowler. It is an excellent pattern here in Southern California for a variety of species, including perch, corbina, bass, and even bonefish. My variation uses Arctic Fox fur for added movement in the water. The Arctic Fox version is a great option for fishing bays, when targeting spotties and bonefish. My variation of the pattern was also used to tag bonefish on Oahu. Overall great pattern and fairly easy to tie.”
