Guided Surf / Walk and Wade Session: East Bay
East Bay Saltwater Fishing
Walk & Wade
A Bay Area native with decades of local experience, Otto brings an insightful and engaging approach to guiding the East Bay. Specializing in striped bass, halibut, and other coastal species, he provides a deep dive into the technical side of the sport. His trips focus on understanding the water, walking anglers through the nuances of tides, wind, and the migratory patterns of these game fish.
Guided East Bay Surf / Walk & Wade Session
Join our LCO guides for a private experience teaching you how to fish your local Bay Area waters. By combing the beaches with both single-hand and two-handed fly rods, you will target striped bass, halibut, and other coastal species.
While walking the beaches checking out coves and different bays, we cover topics such as gear selection, reading water currents, fly selection, and the finer points of finding our target species throughout the year in locations around the Bay, including Albany, Berkeley, Sausalito, Marin.
Each session is 4–5 hours long. All fishing gear is provided. As for clothing, flip-flops and shorts are acceptable during the warmer months. If individuals wish to wear waders and boots, they must bring their own along with a wading belt. Expect to get wet during surf outings—we cover water in order to find fish.
The usual start time is between 8-9AM depending on the tide or we can do a afternoon session with the longer days, though timing varies depending on the season and tides.
The price of the guided surf session includes equipment for 1–2 anglers.
