The Chubby Chernobyl is a great stonefly and grasshopper adult imitation. It is easily visible from 40 feet with it's double synthetic wing and boasts 4 pairs of rubber legs giving it tons of movement as it skitters across the surface.
Size 8-12 make excellent October Caddis imitations.
