Yuba River Fly Fishing Report

Nov 20, 20141 min read

Hogan Brown, Hogan Brown Fly Fishing

The Lower Yuba has been fair to good depending on the crowds and day. Hopefully this rain that is supposedly coming in will add some color to the river and MAYBE raise the flows. Eggs and Beads are still best with a few fish coming on rubber legs and small mayfly nymphs. Fish seem to be moving into “bug water” but early in the day are still looking in the shallows for eggs.

Dave Barbieri, Dave Barbieri Guide Service

With a lot of the salmon dying off, the egg bite has slowed on the Yuba over the last few days. Fish are starting to transition back to bugs. Even though fishing has slowed, we had some trout come up for dries yesterday, and I predict, it won’t be long before we have some excellent dry-fly fishing! Flows for the Yuba are hovering around 800 cfs.
