Yuba River Fly Fishing Report

Dry fly fishing on the Yuba has been outstanding! Aside for about 5 min last week, we haven’t fished nymphs for about a month. Very good numbers, but fish are definitely schizzy. A superb presentation is essential, as is a quick hookset. To keep things interesting, there is the occasional fish that decides to come up in slow motion (it seems like you can’t wait long enough on those). Flows are just above 650 cfs and very clear. That last storm didn’t murk things up at all. We have been getting fish on March Browns, Caddis, and PMD’s.
