Yosemite Fly Fishing Report

Arrow Thin Left Icon

Rick Mazaira Reports on 7/2/2015:

Yosemite & Surrounding area:

The rivers are fishing well! The   higher elevations are experiencing Thunder showers, a welcome relief from the heat and much needed rain! As you prepare to come know that the showers stack up in the evening and can come in quickly.

Stanislaus:

  • High Elevation : Pressure on the weekends around camp sites and trail heads   make for slow fishing, hike away from crowds and you’ll see a dramatic   change in fish activity. Again watch for thundershower activity.

  • Mid elevations : Are seeing fish more active with lakes doing well, especially the inlets.

  • Lower : It’s like bumper cars with the rafters, you have to fish above or below the rafting put ins/ take outs.

  • Tuolumne:

Fishing well in Yosemite and through Hetch Hetchy.
Mid Elevation- Fishing best early and watch water temperature

    Merced:

Fishing well at elevation- Bass are in the mid to lower elevations! Not a bad option in the heat!
