Rick Mazaira Reports on 4.13.2016
We have had even more water this last week and so watching flows is critical! We are looking forward to a great season!
Mokelumne- Closed till end of May.
Stanislaus- Spring pulses are starting with flows up to 1200 CFS on Sundays and lessening by Tuesdays to 600 CFS. Doing well- all subsurface with midges & #10 Stonefly nymphs.
Tuolumne- Fickle start early with tricos and then in the afternoon, caddis or move subsurface…
Basin Creek is looking great with Dry flies on the surface.
Merced- Open and with a recent release of rescue rainbow trout it is looking better. Some are fishing it but we, as a guide service, are choosing to let the fish population recover to a healthier level. Check out this link on our blog for the video & story.
