Rick Mazaira reports on 10.6.2016
We are starting to see some October Caddis on the Stanislaus & Merced. Size 10 nymph or 10 dry.
Mokelumne - The Moke is back down to minimum flows, best to wait for the Salmon pushes coming soon.
Upper Moke- It’s all fishing well, dries & dry droppers. Stimulators & Caddis are best. Cooler in the morning so nymphing will be your best bet early.
Stanislaus- South Fork is doing well. Yellow Sallies, and Hare’s ears dries are picking up with the PMD’s.
Middle Fork is great above Twain Hart-Kennedy Meadows has eased up and has good activity.
Above the Clark Fork is fishing well.
Tuolumne- Tuolumne Medows - Flows are low but water is cool and temps are stable- a size 16 parachute Adams will go all day!
Middle Fork & South fork flows are low. Subsurface caddis & midges work well, Caddis, Parachute Adams and Yellow Sallies.
Merced- El Portal fishing is slow look for activity in the late afternoon.
Lower Merced starting to pick up with sub surface tactics.
Cheers,
Rick
