Yosemite and Sierra Foothill Fly Fishing Report

YosemiteMar 31, 20161 min read

Rick Mazaira reports on 3.31.2016

It’s all about the Moke & the Stan right now. Until the opener we are spending our days here. With water & snow pack in the low 90 percentile, we are going to have a more normal cycle to our season so look to fish smaller tributaries in early May.

Mokelumne- Fishing well, big caddis are popping off, BWO’s start at 11:00 thread body mayflies are doing well.

Stanislaus- Doing well- all subsurface with midges & #10 Stonefly nymphs.

Tuolumne- Fickle start early with tricos and then move subsurface…

Merced- Not happening… save the drive time.
