Headed over to the Williamson River yesterday to get a better feel for the conditions as I prepare for a summer guide season of big redbands. The river flows have dropped to just about average with the clarity slightly off color. Fish seemed comfortable under these conditions and aggressively took dead drifted nymphs and leeches swung on I lines. Felt great about the day and with more fish pushing into the river as summer temperatures warm upper Klamath Lake, I am excited about what’s ahead for this unique spring creek through August.
