Upper Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Dec 10, 20151 min read

Bucko Theriot reports on 12.10.2015:

Boy, are we receiving a lot of rain and snow up here in Mount Shasta! Things are shaping up for a good winter that we desperately need. If you are in the area looking to fish the upper sac, be prepared for some good BWO hatches, so don’t leave that dry fly box at home. A size 18-20 parachute Adams got the job done the other day. This time of year, if you are going to nymph, you want to get your nymphs down and down fast where they are hugging the bottom. The fish will start to get less active as the colder temps keep coming and we head deeper into winter. I will also be doing winter steelhead trips on the Klamath River.

Dates of Availability December 10-15th and January is pretty open as of right now.
