Dave Neal Reports on 12.22.2017
Trinity River has been a very cold place this week. Mornings starting at 27 degrees and ice build-up in the guides till lunch. We are working very hard for a few fish opportunities each day. They are in here but you have to stay persistent and really work for them. Water is low and clear as one would expect.

Most of the hatchery fish have moved upriver and you will find them from DC up through Lewiston.

Without appreciable rain the wild ones are just not moving yet downriver so there is a big gap between fish. It’s been scratchy in JC if your after winter fish. A rain event and bump in flows will hit the reset button and change things for the better. I think we still have a lot to look forward to this winter. Stay tuned.

Cheers,
David Neal
