Lost Coast Outfitters reports on 2.16.17

Here’s a couple of current graphs from the Trinity and Smith, though this describes the entire winter, with rivers almost dropping into shape just to blow out again.

The Trinity above Douglas City continues to be in shape with a few fish around, and plenty of desperate anglers.

Wet conditions are predicted across Nor Cal for the next week, so we need to look into our crystal ball and plan some trips in March. According to a couple long term forecasts I read in the fall, our winter was supposed to be fierce to start and then mellow out later on. Let’s hope that prediction comes to fruition in March as winter transtions to spring. We still have time to capture some chrome this year, we just need a little less love from Mother Nature.
