San Francisco Bay Fly Fishing Report

Local SurfMar 16, 20181 min read

Kevin DeGulis reports on 3.16.18

San Francisco Bay has been heating up this past week. The shallow estuary is an ideal spawning ground for various migrating species.
Areas near the Golden Gate Bridge have been most productive for halibut and surf perch.

To catch these, use OPST laser line and the Rio outbound short shooting head sink 3. As for flies, clouser chartreuse, deceiver chartreuse, stay hungry streamer, ghost shrimp bc root beer 6, EP crab 3-tone will work.

In the next couple weeks, expect stripers to be filling up the bay. And remember: fish hard
