Rob Russell Reports on 11.20.2017
December usually marks the arrival of the first steelhead in the Russian. However, there have been a few half-pounders and adults already caught this year. Flows are low at this time, and could fall below 300 cfs in Guerneville by the weekend. This will bring about a low-flow closure. Please call the low-flow hotline 707-944-5533 before you decide to fish the Russian or any other steelhead water in Sonoma County. Clarity is good with several feet of visibility. Swinging flies is happening today on the Lower Russian! Swinging a black leech ups your odds of a bent rod with the possibility of hooking a smallmouth or striper this time of year. Have fun and give a call with any questions or to book a Russian River steelhead trip!
