McCloud Fishing Report
Opening week on the McCloud has been a hoot! Despite high flows we found some good fishing. Our anglers focused on the soft seams and side channel pocket water to find success. The big grey drakes and black caddis, were out and making for decent dry fly fishing. The majority of our fish however, were caught on nymphs.
The last couple days of beautiful warm sunny days lit the fuse of a sensational wildflower explosion! A walk along the banks of the McCloud in the spring is mind-blowing. More good news! The flows are dropping, the road is fixed, and everyday we see more and more bugs. Tie some dries, pack the truck, bring the camera and come fish with us!
