Lower Sacramento Striper Report

Lower Sacramento RiverAug 20, 20151 min read

Hogan Brown Reports on 8.20.2015

Lower Sacramento River Striper Fishing is good. There are good numbers of happy and hungry fish around. Top water in the morning in evening has been good with all sizes of fish in the shallows (1-5’) of water chasing bait fish amongst and along with weeds. Salmon are starting to show in decent numbers but still not enough to really push the stripers around. Having a full arsenal of lines in various sink rates from floating to led core is the key and covering all types of water to find feeding fish is key. Fishing should remain strong into October or until the river blows out with a big storm.
Open Dates Sept 12, Oct 3, 17, 24
