Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverApr 19, 20181 min read

Anthony Carruesco reports on 4.19.18

The Lower Sac is still low at 3k cubes. Flows should be creeping up in the next few weeks as ag demands downstream will start their irrigation season. Fishing has remained good to very good.

There are a lot of different bugs catching fish right now. Peemers, midges, caddis, stoneflies, eggs. It’s more about putting your fly in the right spot. We’ve had some excellent fishing during the cloudy, rainy days and that’s when our most consistent dry fly fishing has been happening. Boat traffic has been relatively light and the weather has been exceptionally nice.
