Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverAug 9, 20181 min read

Capt. Hogan Brown reports on 8.9.18

Lower Sacramento River Striper Fishing has been good. Bigger fish are showing and with cooler weather and smoke fish are up in the water column eating with a bit more confidence.

There are also good numbers of salmon and salmon anglers in and out on the water pushing fish to the edges and giving us good opportunities at larger fish.

The bite has been best at various times on various stretches as water temperatures vary 5-8 degrees depending on tributaries, pumps, and stretches of water. Fishing should be very good through out the late summer and fall.
