Last week, the newly-formed Shasta Trinity Cascades Chapter of Trout Unlimited partnered with The Fly Shop, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the City of Redding, and the Shasta-Trinity Fly Fishers to host a Sacramento River clean up in Redding. Dozens of volunteers turned out to remove trash from in and around the river. Volunteers removed countless bags of trash and large pieces of debris (including over 70 tires!) from the river between the rodeo grounds and the Bonnyview Street bridge. The Lower Sacramento is looking as good as it fishes. Stay tuned for information on future river clean ups and developments on the Shasta Trinity Cascades Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
