Hitting the Hex Hatch at Clearwater Lodge!

This is trout fishing - Casting a dry fly to feeding trout on a beautiful California spring creek.  Floating on the stunning Fall River within eye -sight of both Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen.  Or hiking along a lush freestone river to catch and release strong fighting rainbows on the Pit River.  Northern California is home to some of the best Blue Ribbon trout streams in the West.   Hat Creek, Fall River, Pit River, McCloud, and others create a strong diversity of fishing adventures for all angler levels.  Located amongst magnificent old sycamore trees, Clearwater Lodge guests enjoy fine dining, comfortable accommodations and a relaxed atmosphere for sharing the day’s adventures with their fellow guests. The wide front porch is an inviting place to enjoy a glass of wine or beer and share stories of the day’s adventures. The massive stone fireplace with cozy seating beckons you to linger and relax. Even a billiard room is the place to enjoy after dinner.  

Trip Itinerary:

Arrival Day 1:                               

Depart home for Clearwater Lodge.  The lodge is roughly a 4½ hour drive from San Francisco. Please arrive late afternoon to get settled, meet your fishing guides, and have dinner.  Half of the group will be venturing out for an evening of guided fishing on the Fall River to fish the Hex hatch.    

Day 2:                                              

After a delicious breakfast at 7:30am, you will head to the water with your guide.  Your day could be fishing anything from the spring creeks of Hat Creek or Fall River to the freestone and stunning Pit or McCloud Rivers.   After dinner, the other half of your group will fish the evening session for the Hex hatch on Fall River.

Day 3 :                                             

After breakfast you will meet your guides for a half day of guided fishing on nearby rivers.  After returning to the lodge around noon you will have lunch and depart for home.

Clearwater Lodge Cancellation Policy: A deposit of 50% is required within 14 days of booking your reservation. Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of filling the space. For this reason, we uphold a strict cancellation policy. Your deposit, less a $100 cancellation fee, will be happily refunded if cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. After that, we regret that no refund is possible for non-arrival or early departure. The balance is due 30 days before your arrival at Clearwater Lodge. We also require that each guest sign a liability release and assumption of risk form before participating in a Clearwater outing.
