John Fochetti of Clearwater Lodge Reports:
Fall River - Continues to fish well however the fish have spread out a bit more than the past few weeks. You may have to work a little harder to find a big pod of fish. There are some good pods of fish in the deeper runs right now, and nymphing seems to be the best bet, small mayflies patterns such as no flash flash no bead pheasant tails in size 18, Hogan’s S&M nymphs in size 16-18, and mighty may’s size 18. There still has not been much dry fly action, the PMD hatch has been sporadic and weak. However you could spend a day head hunting with a Quigley’s cripple and may have some luck. The lower river has started to see some Callibaetis action which should continue to get better over the next month. The Hex hatch is still on, but the wind has been picking up almost every night making it pretty difficult to find willing fish.
