Downloadable copies of A River Between Us are now available in Standard Definition and High Definition on iTunes and Amazon.

As many anglers know by now, the Klamath River is the epicenter of one of the nation’s most bitter water wars. Residents and policy-makers have struggled for years to reconcile the water needs of agriculture, tribes, communities, and fish and wildlife in this basin. But there is hope. Since 2010 three landmark agreements have been forged that would provide water security for all these parties. Trout Unlimited played an important role in negotiating these agreements, which must be authorized by Congress to be fully implemented (Congressional leaders say the Klamath Agreements could come up for a vote soon). The urgent need for Congress to act to support these homegrown, collaborative agreements—exactly the kind of ground-up solutions Congress says it wants as the basis for legislation—before they terminate at the end of 2015 has been covered lately by the New York Times, Circle of Blue, Public News Service and other media.

A new film from Jason Atkinson, a former Oregon state senator, and It Matters Productions aims to “change the conversation” about the Klamath and spur action from the President and Congress to resolve the water conflicts in the third most productive river for salmon and steelhead on the West Coast. A River Between Us tells the human story of the Klamath water struggles and the cost to lives, cultures, and communities. See the trailer HERE. Several TU corporate sponsors, including Orvis and Fishpond, are also helping to promote the film.

TU is pleased to partner with A River Between Us to help get Congress and the White House to act before the end of this year to pass the Klamath agreements. Anglers who purchase the film will receive a complimentary one-year membership to TU. Downloadable copies of A River Between Us are now available in Standard Definition and High Definition on iTunes and Amazon. The cost is $12.99 for the HD version. If you are already a TU member, download the film and give a fishing buddy a TU membership.
